Thank you for posting this recipe. A great little Vietnamese restaurant in Mobile, Alabama (of all places!) called Yen, made this soup and I’m thinking your recipe is it. The soup always made a cold, winter night much more cozy and warm. I’ve often thought of the soup and wondered if I could make it myself. I cannot wait to make this and tuck in.

Yes, you can use green asparagus. However it does have a more pronounced flavor compared to white asparagus. I’m sure it will still be delicious though.
